Necklace Length and Size Guide

Not sure which length to go for?

Here's where each chain length actually sits, so you can get it right first time. And if it's not quite right when it arrives, don't worry, we'll resize it for free (details at the bottom).

Where each length sits

  • 14" sits snug around your neck, choker style.
  • 16" sits at the base of your neck, just above the collarbone.
  • 18" sits on or just under the collarbone. A classic everyday length for a pendant.
  • 20" sits a few inches below the collarbone, on the top of your chest.
  • 22" sits lower on the chest, nice for layering under a shorter chain.
  • 24" sits mid-chest, our longest standard length.

Sizing really does depend on the person, so treat this as a rough guide.

 We always advise measuring your neck, and any necklaces you already own, to make sure you get the right size.

How our length options work

Most of our necklaces come in a length range, like 16"-20".

That's because they come with a 4 inch extendable chain, so you can wear them anywhere in that range.

If you want a length that isn't listed or you would prefer your necklace without an extendable chain then choose the "custom length" and leave a note for us when you are checking out.

How to measure yourself

Grab a piece of string, wrap it round your neck where you want the necklace to sit and mark where the ends meet. Lay it flat against a ruler or tape measure and that's your length.

Already got a necklace you love the length of? Lay it flat and measure it end to end, clasp included.

Layering

Stacking a few? Go for lengths about 2 inches apart, like 16" and 18", so they sit nicely and don't tangle.

Bracelets

Measure round your wrist just below the wrist bone, then pick the size that matches at checkout (or custom length). If you're between sizes, go up for a looser fit.

If it doesn't fit, we'll fix it

If your necklace or bracelet arrives and the length isn't right, we offer free exchanges. Just send it back to us (you cover the postage to us), we'll resize it and send it back out to you for free. Email us within 30 days of receiving your order with your order number and we'll sort it ASAP. You can read our full Returns Policy here.
